PLEASE NOTE: School clearances are required for all activities during school hours. Parents are highly encouraged to get their clearances as soon as possible so that they can take advantage of volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

About Volunteer Opportunities
Looking to get more involved in your child’s classroom or the school? There are many opportunities to volunteer, both in and out of the classroom. Help is always needed and appreciated.
Noon-Time Monitor
Volunteers will assist current Kelly Services monitors by actively engaging students in social opportunities during recess and lunch, help build social and play competencies among students, and assist monitors with overall supervision during lunch and recess periods.

Homeroom Representative
Homeroom Representative volunteers are chosen for each classroom at the beginning of the school year. The Homeroom Representatives communicates regularly with the teacher/caregivers in the class and coordinates parties and teacher gifts. This is an ideal volunteer position for someone who would like a leadership role in the classroom. Look for signups for this position early in the year. Clearances required.

Classroom Volunteers
There are many different ways to volunteer in the classroom.
Class Party Planners – There are four annual parties held in your child’s classroom at O’Hara Elementary: Halloween, Winter, Valentine’s and Year End. These parties last approximately an hour and generally involve 3-4 stations of crafts, games, stories, etc. If interested in helping, contact your child’d homeroom representative. Clearances required.
Committees
The O’Hara Elementary PTO has several committees that work on various activities and roles throughout the school. Please provide us with your information and what committees you are interested in helping out with and we will make sure we get in touch with you soon!
